Well we all know about Cartoon Network (CN).<\/p>\n

It is a leading Animation channel in media and entertainment industry today, since it was formed i.e., on 1st<\/sup> May, 1995.<\/p>\n

All the cartoons aired on this channel are mainly 2D animation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In its early years it only aired Hanna-Barbera cartoons like \u201cThe Flintstones and Scooby Doo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Then it started to air \u201cThe Looney Toons\u201d and \u201cTom and Jerry<\/a> series\u201d.<\/p>\n

Finally in early 21st<\/sup> century it started to air originals like \u201cThe Power Puff Girls\u201d and \u201cJohnny Bravo\u201d.<\/p>\n

By 2010 TV series like \u201cBen 10\u201d, \u201cPok\u00e9mon<\/a>\u201d and \u201cBeyblade\u201d were a sensation among kids.<\/p>\n

2.DISNEY CHANNEL :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Well acquiring second position in today\u2019s list is Disney Channel (INDIA).<\/p>\n

This famous\u00a0 Disney animation<\/a> channel is owned by the Indian division of The Walt Disney Company.<\/p>\n

The Walt Disney is popular for all its classic Fairy Tales and Mickey Mouse.<\/p>\n

The channel was launched on 17th<\/sup> December, 2004.<\/p>\n

This channel aired originals imported from US like \u201cHannah Montana\u201d, \u201cWizards of Waverly Place\u201d and \u201cPhineas and Ferb\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n

All this shows were very popular specially Hannah Montana among girls.<\/p>\n

By 2006 it started to air shows made in India. Like the shows \u201cVicky Aur Vetal\u201d and \u201cKya Mast Hai Life\u201d were shown.<\/p>\n

By 2011 shows made from original adaptations were made. Like this Disney<\/a> has acquired 2nd<\/sup> position.<\/p>\n

3.HUNGAMA TV :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Well in third position comes Hungama TV.<\/p>\n

Hungama TV<\/a> was launched on 26th<\/sup> September, 2004.<\/p>\n

Originally Hungama was owned by UTV Software Communications.<\/p>\n

But in 2006 Hungama was sold to Disney.<\/p>\n

It is still owned by Disney along with UTV Software Communications (bought by Disney in 2011).<\/p>\n

Hungama used to launch Japanese Anime Shows till 2013.<\/p>\n

After 2013 it started to air shows made in India as part of localization strategy.<\/p>\n

Shows aired on Hungama include Shin Chan\u201d, \u201cBoBoiboy\u201d, \u201cPerman\u201d and \u201cDoreamon\u201d.<\/p>\n

4.NICKELODEON :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

In fourth position we have Nickelodeon (Nick). Nickelodeon <\/a>was launched on1st<\/sup> December, 1977.<\/p>\n

It is owned by Viacom through Viacom Media<\/a> Networks.<\/p>\n

Nick mainly targets Children and Adolescents from age of 6 to 11 years, while during they target younger children of age 2-5 years.<\/p>\n

Nick is famous for its show like \u201cSpongeBob Square Pants\u201d, \u201cPower Rangers (All seasons)\u201d, \u201cDora the Explorer\u201d and \u201cMotu Patlu\u201d (a 3D animated series).<\/p>\n

Since the late 2000s Nicktoons (a part of Nick) struck a deal with DreamWorks Animation to air 3D animated TV series of the studios movies like Winx Club and Penguins of Madagascar.<\/p>\n

5.POGO :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

In position 5 we have POGO.<\/a><\/p>\n

Pogo channel was launched on 1st<\/sup> January, 2004.<\/p>\n

It was created by Turner Broadcasting and is a unit of Time Warner for India.<\/p>\n

Pogo has an original show, The Music, Art and Dance show, M.A.D. produced by Turner.<\/p>\n

The show is very popular in India DIY (do it yourself) shows.<\/p>\n

Along with this many other popular shows were \u201cMr. Bean: The Animated Series\u201d, \u201cChota Bheem<\/a> \u201c, and \u201cMy Little Pony\u201d along with \u201cBarbie\u201d.<\/p>\n

Due to all these shows Pogo has acquired 5th<\/sup> position.<\/p>\n

6.DISCOVERY KIDS :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

In sixth place we have Discovery Kids<\/a>. Discovery Kids was launched on 7th<\/sup> August, 2012 by Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.<\/p>\n

This channel consists of high quality with numerous genres like mythology, adventure etc.<\/p>\n

Discovery Kids aimed population of 370 million of age group 4-9 years.<\/p>\n

When it started it aired only 8 shows which included \u201cKim\u201d, \u201cSally Bollywood\u201d, \u201cHowzzattt\u201d and \u201cWild Kratts\u201c.<\/p>\n

They also aired show called \u201cWild Tales\u201d for babies which helped them to learn about baby animals.<\/p>\n

7.DISNEY XD:<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Disney XD<\/a> acquires 7th<\/sup> place in our list. Disney XD was launched on 14th<\/sup> November, 2009 to replace \u2018Toon Disney\u2019 (a part of Disney Channel).<\/p>\n

This Channel has main target towards teenagers of age group 11-16.<\/p>\n

The channel has become so popular due to the shows.<\/p>\n

ZeeQ was launched in 5th<\/sup> November, 2012. The channel is owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises and targeted children of ages 4-14.<\/p>\n

ZeeQ is mainly a channel that helps a child to learn something new.<\/p>\n

9.NICKELODEON SONIC :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Sonic <\/a>was launched on 20th<\/sup> December, 2011 and is owned by Viacom 18.<\/p>\n

At starting the channel mainly focused on action cartoons like \u201cKung Fu Panda\u201d, \u201cTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles\u201d and \u201cPower Rangers\u201d.<\/p>\n

But after rebranding it mainly focuses on comedy.<\/p>\n

Now the shows aired are \u201cOggy and the Cockroaches\u201d, \u201cShiva\u201d, and \u201cPower Rangers\u201d.<\/p>\n

10.ANIMAX :<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Last but not least 10th<\/sup> position is acquired by Animax<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Animax is a Japanese anime satellite television network, dedicated to broadcasting anime programming.<\/p>\n

Animax was established on 20th<\/sup> May, 1998 by Sony, is the first and largest 24-hour network in the world dedicated to Anime.<\/p>\n

This channel aired shows like \u201cGhost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex\u201d <\/em>and the 2010 anime adaptation of \u201cMarvel’s Iron Man<\/em> by Madhouse Studios\u201d.<\/p>\n
